Equifax, a consumer credit reporting agency, has reported that some of its data has been breached, potentially impacting more than 140 million consumers. This data breach does not involve Bank of the Bluegrass & Trust co., and we do not know if any of our customer’s data has been compromised as a result of this breach, but we want to make sure that you are aware of the event so that you can take appropriate action. Equifax will be mailing notices to customers known to be impacted.
Equifax is providing all Americans a free year of credit monitoring. If your personal information was breached by Equifax, you’ll want to be proactive in protecting your ID.
